November 2008

Hope this Monday morning finds everyone well :) We are at an exciting time right now- there is a shift to positivity and hope for the first time in a long while. I think the music that is born out of the coming months and years will reflect not only the fear and darkness that has prevailed for so long- but will also reflect that hope- and faith. It is an exciting time to be a musician and writer. I think great art can’t help but happen right now. Hope you enjoy what I have to offer- much more is on its way :)

August 2008

Well, I am here at home listening to the rain- Tropical Storm Fay is projected to slam us tonight and through the weekend. So, since you all are music fans, let’s talk music and rain. What are your favorites (or not) and why?

Favorites for me: “Rainy Days and Mondays” The Carpenters- why? Karen Carpenter’s voice. Every year when I make my birthday wish I wish to sing like her. She was/is an angel. Pure perfection when it comes to capturing a song :)

Another one is “Smoky Mountain Rain”- Ronnie Milsap- it just takes me back to my childhood and that era of “new country” back in the early 80’s.

“November Rain” GNR- I had my heartbroken when I was seventeen and boy, did this song get me through some sad and lonely times :)

“I Love A Rainy Night” Eddie Rabbit- same reason as the Ronnie Milsap one- it just takes me back

“Blame it on the Rain” (artist unknown- no really, I don’t think anyone really knows) cause it just makes me laugh- boy, what a time- lol and I can remember during the first Gulf War our local radio station doing a spoof called “Blame it On Hussein”- lol

I could probably go on all night- got any favorite rain songs???

so, I’m a writer so therefore my brain is always reeling. Let me start off by saying I am on here (and blogging, mind you) because I truly love getting to know people from all walks of life. I think we all have so much more in common than we realize. I think the internet can be a wonderful way for the great big world to get a whole lot smaller. So, let’s see if I can stir up some chatter. How about a question of the day for a while. Today’s question: “What song (from the past or present) immediately takes you back to when you were fourteen and why?”

Just because I believe in playing along- my answer “Sweet Child O Mine” Guns N Roses because it was during the height of the hair band era. I was so love with Axle and I can remember going to Miracle Strip Amusement Park and riding one of the rides and asking the ride operator to play this song. He dedicated to me over the loud speaker. I was so cool :)

Okay, that’s mine- what’s yours?
