Hi Everyone, My name is Carla. Have you ever known someone that had musical talent but never utilized it fully during their younger years? Well that’s me. At the age of 6 and through age 15 i played piano, which began a love of Songwriting. I would read lyrics on the sheetmusic i would play and say to myself, i can do that! By my teens, i’d swapped out a love for Piano (but i still play) for Clarinet lessons and ended up being the 1st black Drum Major of my High School’s band. Because of my skills on that instrument i earned a full term scholarship to the University of North Texas. But because I didn’t think I wanted to play for a Philharmonic as a career i dropped that as my course of study to pursue more of a Business career going on to earn my BA and Masters degrees. So needless to say, studio time & broadcasting my vocal abilities is a brand new one for me and something that i most definitely enjoy & in 2009 I plan to break my nervousness and this is definitely a way to do it. No excuses but factor that in when u hear my song. My motto in 2009: Better Late than Never. I’m pursing quite a few things this year and this was one of them.
