When you finally get the chance to meet and talk to her, you find that those two things pale in comparison to the joy, passion, humility and caring that truly defines the one and only, Candace.
Candace began singing around the early age of five. She was raised in a home where listening to artist such as Sade', Aretha Franklin, the Chi-Lites and Earth Wind and Fire was a daily occurrence. Her mother recognized something special in her voice and began to enter her in competitions and community events. From elementary through high school, Candace won multiple awards for her singing and writing talents. Candace was also a part of the High Point Community Choir, which along with church, not only shaped her sound but also shaped her. With a steadfast belief in Christ and a passion for giving back, Candace aims to inspire and uplift through her music and work in the community. On top of being a registered nurse with a degree from Hampton University, she has lent her voice to raise money and awareness for The Children's Miracle Network, performed in support of the Kidney Foundation and graced the stage at several community outreach events in and around her home town of High Point, North Carolina.
Candace had always dreamed of sharing her gift of music with the world. Then she met her high school classmate, producer/engineer, L.G. and that dream came to life. He decided to introduce her to the rest of Fiya Fiya Entertainment after a few sessions in the studio, where L.G. was in awe of the talent, drive, and determination that Candace exhibited. L.G. and his team of talented producers and musicians collaborated with Candace, to create a style of music that transcends sound, bypasses the ears and goes straight to the heart. Her versatility allows her to captivate the world of new R&B with her style and swagger, while seizing the ears of adult contemporary fans with effortless passion and soul. Though her music is performed in a female voice, it is not gender biased. She hopes that listeners will see that the content of her music is just as blind as love is. Candace desires to encourage all who have found and seek true love, while exposing those who look for it in the wrong ways and abuse it. She believes that if she can make a positive impact on one individual, by revealing her life situations, her duty and responsibility as an artist has been fulfilled.
