I’m determined to let the world know that hip hop lovers celebrate holidays too! there is no reason we should be expected to listen to a particular genre just because it’s a holiday. the implication that any of the songs on my soon to be released compilation of Holiday songs doesn’t qualify just because it is hip hop music stinks!

We reviewed your song and our definition of the channel (http://www.ourstage.com/about/faqs), and it doesn’t belong there. The channel is really for winter holiday songs, which is why we have it active during the months leading up to the winter holidays. As a result, we have removed your song from competition in our Holiday / Seasonal channel.

The Content Review

Okay so I broke my word and uploaded another song to Ourstage. I had vowed not to do it until they come up with a way you can remove your songs, notice you can’t do that. A bit unnerving don’t you think. I have a catalog of music available that can fit into many genres, but you probably won’t see it here until they fix the problems they have.

Anyway, the HOLIDAY thing is really pissin me off and I need to express myself on this issue so stay tuned. The song I just uploaded is called ‘We Like It’. it is another tune written and recorded specifically for a HOLIDAY. Let’s see how long it lasts. I have many more and I’m sure one of them meets the HOLIDAY criteria set out by ourstage staff.

Since joining this community this year I have had many unfortunate experiences regarding the classification of my music. As an artist I pride myself on the ability to diversify across, through, and around any genre restrictions typically imposed by the powers that want to be. LOL

Following an intensive conversation with the our stage staff regarding the placement of my dance songs in the club channel they have yet to acknowledge the versatility of my music. The most recent insult is in regards to HOLIDAY music. How can you restrict this by genre???

Both my song ’My Valentine" and Always love you Momma were removed from the HOLIDAY CHANNEL??? Read the e-mail and tell me this is not strait up discrimination!!!!!
