If you are an artist or band, then I am inevitability. If you make music and promote yourself on websites such as these, then you have already placed yourself in the limelight. Honesty can cut like a blade. Its brutality can shake the foundations of your dreams, but without it you may find yourself led astray. One way or the other, this is necessary whether you want it or not. Being here shows that this is what you have asked for.

A thing I’ve noticed

Ass kissers.

You search to the ends of the Earth for something nice to say about the music regardless of what you may really think.

This does not help you or the band or artist.

This makes both of you look like fools.

IF you are worried about burning bridges with others or hurting feelings, don’t say anything at all.

You tell a bad musician or artist “They sound amazing” when they clearly don’t, you only send them further down the road of false hopes and fairy tale. Don’t say anything at all if you cannot be brutally honest.

Never wear your emotions and dreams on your sleeve. For it is there that they will be snatched away from you.

Beware the gaze of the true listener. They who hold no obligations to appease you.
