Brian was born in the small town of Renton Washington, but his musical ambitions have led him miles from the place he used to call home, and further away from the person he used to be. "Growing up we had little, but when my older sister left home, leaving behind her acoustic guitar, I found that I had what I needed." With no money for lessons, Brian taught himself to play, found a passion that still defines him, and discovered the healing power of a song. "I listened to lots of different styles of music growing up, but what spoke to me the most were those singer-songwriters who wore their hearts on their sleave, like James Taylor and John Denver." That defining moment came when Brian heard The Beatles and Let it be for the first time. "That was it for me. I thought to myself, that's what I want to do, write songs that have the power to move someone." So that's what Brian attempts to do with each song he writes, by drawing off the people and stories that have moved him.
