How does a promising young artist overcome a near fatal automobile crash followed by extensive rehabilitation? In the case of Bo Brannon the answer is obvious; return to his roots. And return he has. It is fitting that Bo's soon-to-be released album is self titled, BO BRANNON. Listen to it and you will agree; Bo is back! His early gospel and later honky-tonk origins mingle with his distinctive southern rock and country style. If the measure of an artist's achievement is the degree to which they can trigger an emotional response; Bo is successful. Bo knew it was time to begin that trip back when he met Rick Carter (Rollin in the Hay). Bo wanted to buy oneof Rick's CDs but did not have the money. Bo told his story to rick who gave Bo the CD and said, "I know I will see you again to repay me." That simple act of kindness and encouragement set Bo on the road back. Shortly after his meeting with Rick, Bo was again playing his music. He played at Tootsies (Orchid Lounge) in Nashville. Bo also traveled to New Orleans where in the French Quarter he played with David Frezell, Adam Guthie, Razzy Bailey, and others. While on the road, Bo began to write songs of his own. He realized the time was right to record his own album. Bo likes to describe his type of music as "a mix between country and southrn rock with a hint of the blues." Bo was not content to follow the Billboards country music style. He chose a new outlaw approach. Bo himself is now traveling down the road to stardom, with the sun in his face and the wind at his back.
