Bazooka Jill is a Rock N' Roll band conceived as the two founding members waited at the Dallas, Texas airport almost three years ago. As hours passed and the pair got bored, crazy ideas started to form in their heads. They were talking about creative ways to spend their hard-earned cash when someone mentioned starting a band. Maybe because it just sounded like too much fun or because there was just something wrong with them, without a second thought they ran with it. By the end of the summer they had the money to buy instruments and the band that would come to be Bazooka Jill met for the first time.
Several...difficult months later, after being joined by their current guitarist, Sean Trauth, they would officially name themselves Bazooka Jill after a stick of gum the bassist was chewing in the midst of writing their first 'real' song. Even in these early stages there was an apparent chemistry amongst the members of the band, a comfort and lightheartedness that allowed them to work without the typical hassles and control battles so many bands experience.
Over two years, two albums, a single, innumerable gigs and even a small tour, Bazooka Jill is better than ever and still improving! Though their love for what they do plays a huge role in their success, they are driven by a powerful work ethic and professionalism uncommon to people of their age. They have taken every aspect of the promotion, production, and management of their band into their own hands and much of their current success can be traced back directly to their efforts; they book their own shows, manage their budget, create and market their merchandise as well as wrote, recorded, and produced their most recent CD, The Night Before, released in mid February. Additionally, they have established a presence on-line, which they recognize to be one of the most important promotional mediums available in the modern music industry. Google Bazooka Jill, see what happens.
What the past three years have taught this band is that this is what they want to do with the rest of their lives. After climbing to the top in their local scene they made the only next logical step: relocating to Los Angeles, home of the nation's recording industry. Now faced with new opportunities that crop up every day, it seems like only a matter of time before things get really interesting.
