In 2003, hailing from the notorious gutter streets of Houston, a set of youngsters Armond Reed (Young Chyco), Joseph Ward (Joe Nasty), Deaunrea’ Harris (Lil Dre), Brandon Solomon (Star Struck) and ex-member Cedric Hamilton (C.J) formed the group Bayou City Boys. Their inspiration was partially derived from the success of other local Houston artist such as Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and Mike Jones. Growing up for these belligerent teens in the tough streets of Hiram Clarke in Houston, allowed them to manifest clever lyrics based upon their street insight and gangster lifestyles.
