Bayou Bleu rose like a pheonix from the ashes of the very popular JJ Maj and the Unpolished Brass and reemerged as a different and vicious threat of funkcreole swing. They stripped the band down to family members, and a stronger emphasis on melody driven tunes. The Acosta brothers sing like men possesed by crawdaddy voodoo, The rhythm section is an absinthe flavored groove. Meanwhile, Pedro’s brass brings it all home until the instruments clash in into musical euphoria. Their live shows have established them as Augusta Georgia’s most exciting and commanding musical act. 2008 saw the release of their first EP,Bayou Bleu will make a mark on popular music in the next few years.
