He was born in Istanbul/TURKEY. 21 years old. His music life started when he was 6 years old with piano. Growing up in a talented musical family meant that Batu was always surrounded by different forms of music. His dad was a trombone and a piano player and a very well known producer in the industry, and his parents exposed him to a wealth of music as a child, all of which influenced his development. His first foray into learning an instrument himself came when he started to play the piano aged 6 years old. He got accepted to Istanbul Government Conservatory when he was 10 years old and he began to play trombone at the age of 11. After completing his 8 years of classical music study at Istanbul Government Conservatory with Aycan Teztel, he got accepted to Berklee College of Music. He studied with music giants like Phil Wilson, Tiger Okoshi, Ronald Mahdi, Marcello Pellitteri, Charles Lewis, Jeff Galindo and he got a chance to share the stage with a lot of great, talented musicians. He is still continuing his performance studies with Phil Wilson at Berklee College of Music.
