About Barb and Tom Webber

Portrait of Barb and Tom Webber
Barb and Tom Webber: Singer-Songwriter Duo
For 20 years, singer-songwriter duo Tom and Barb Webber have been performing their genre-bending brand of Americana throughout southeast Wisconsin at coffeehouses, festivals, restaurants, community centers, bookstores, and other venues. Soon after releasing their second CD “Indigo Sky”, they received the 2003 WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award for “Best Folk Artist.” Over the years they have shared the stage with nationally recognized artists such as Nashville songwriter Hugh Moffatt, along with a host of popular local artists.

Barb is recognized in the Milwaukee music community as a songsmith with a flair for writing melodically rich stories. Her husband, Tom, instrumentally arranges her a capella compositions. Stylistically they have been favorably compared to duos such as Buddy and Julie Miller, Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer, Storyhill, Robin and Linda Williams, and individual artists such as Nanci Griffith, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tom Russell, and Kris Kristoferson.

Barb and Tom’s performances are noted for their lush harmonies, lively humor, and stage banter. Barb’s beautiful, clear vocals are complemented by Tom’s rumble and grit of the Texas Panhandle where he was born.

In the summer of 2007, Barb and Tom expanded their musical horizons by recording their third CD “Only Way Home” in Nashville, TN with producer Tim Lorsch of Bull Creek Productions. This CD received a 4 out of 5 star rating by All Music Guide.

Our Band FAIR WEBBER
In 2003, Tom and Barb formed their Folk Rock/ Americana band called “Fair Webber” in order to showcase original tunes and to further explore their broad musical interests. Beyond folk, they play country, blues, rockabilly, classic rock, bluegrass, gospel, celtic, and jazz. Their performances are enjoyed among young and old alike.

Barb Webber: songwriter, vocals
Tom Webber: rhythm guitar, songwriter, vocals
Lon Couillard: percussion
Scott Schwulst: lead guitar (acoustic and electric), mandolin, banjo, pedal steel
Andy Waldoch: electric bass, upright bass, keyboards

A Fair Webber performance will weave originals amidst covers from a variety of artists including: Julie Miller, Hank Williams, Taj Mahal, Nanci Griffith, Kate Wolf, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, Kate Rusby, Johnny Cash, Kate Wolf, Tom Russell, Blind Willie Johnson, Sting, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristoferson, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Bill Staines, Steve Goodman, John Prine, Buffalo Springfield, and The BoDeans.

    Tom,

Thanks for the kudos, I'm glad you liked my song "One More Today" it was a hard song to write. A lot of emotion in that song for sure, I'm sure you will agree those are the best songs. Btw, I'm a fan as well. Good luck to you and Barb, and I'll be watching for your new stuff.

    Your friend in music,
    Michael

    Barb & Tom,
Just wanted you both to know I really appreciate your music & especially your version of "Soul Of Man". Tom, your voice reminds me so much of Steve Goodman on that one. Nice bass work also.

Hey Barb and Tom, thanks so much for stopping by our page and leaving such a nice comment! We have much in common, so it's great to meet other couples who enjoy making music! Your comments about our song "Autistic Child" are appreciated. We have a grandson who is a "functional" autistic child and was the inspiration for the song. We really like what we hear you folks doing, so keep them coming and we'll keep listening! Regards, Bob & Deb Eaton

Just a quick shout out to all of the songwriters and musicians on this site. I just joined the Ourstage community on the behalf of my wife Barb and I, and am glad to be a part of this. It's a wonderfully democratic approach to getting the music out there with feedback! I'm putting my two cents in the judging process. I am truly impressed with the talent I am hearing from most all of you whose music I have reviewed.

Please do say hello to us!
