Back After Dawn started in 2003, and has released two albums, and two EP's. The bands first two albums and first EP where done in there early years. Now that the band has matured into the unique sound that is on the latest EP entitled "Scene Set Fire", they are vastly growing stronger in there musical endeavors. Steven Salinas met up with Craig Reynolds, who was to become the manager, and began what was to become of Back After Dawn, then went on to bring in drummer Mike Getsinger. Steven and Mike had played in past bands together. With the original intent of being a three piece, the next link in the chain was to be a bass player named Debbie Pucek. Debbie and Mike had played together before in previous bands that Steven was not involved with at the time, but this was the moment that was all to change. Debbie came in and listened to the rough ideas spawning early Back After Dawn and wanted to join right away. Soon after the band realized they really wanted another guitarist, and requisitioned another former member of a previous band that Mike was in to play guitar, Kyle Theirfielder was the first guitarist in Back After Dawn. After completing two of the first three albums with Kyle, it came to surface that he was not fitting the future that Back After Dawn was looking towards. Starting out as a pop punk band in the early days with the album "It's Whatever", next moving on to and indie punk style on "For Parker", then to the 2005 release of "Farewell to Friends" Back After Dawn was working towards a mature punk sound mixed with the growing monster that it was turning in to. Kyle left the band about 6 months after "Farewell to Friends" was released. Back After Dawn needed a replacement and found it in no other than Matt Watson. Matt and Steven had been friends since a very early age, but in the teen years Matt had to move to Taiwan with his family. Each summer Matt would come back and visit for a month. In late 2005 Matt moved back and without question, became the guitarist for Back After Dawn. Since that time the band has been perfecting the sound and in May of 2007 released "Scene Set Fire" which is a sound of ambient/punk/indie/heavy, and the monster that started to grow was not beginning to break the bars of its cage. It would be hard to put a definition on the sound, so they let every one call it what they please. Back After Dawn's newer material since that release has been described as over-whelming. The power, the feelings, the sound. Now the beast is on the loose and taking everyone hostage.
