Biography

Autamary is the new explosive band from Salt Lake City, a city known for it's tough local music scene. Autamary is the new explosive band from Salt Lake City, a city known for it's tough local music scene. In the city that gave rise to hugely successful band "The Used" and many others, it's not good enough to be great, you have to be truly creative and exciting. With a head-on attitude and undying commitment to perfection, they have made a name for themselves as one of the bands to watch in Utah. Formed in August of 2007 by vocalist and largely the brains of the band, Kurt Michelson and two high school friends, Matt McFarland (Drums) and Tyler Christensen (Bass). Within 3 months the trio had a 5 song E.P. recorded and were playing shows throughout Utah. Less than a year later they added two new members: Josh Nemcek (Lead Guitar) and Landon Peck (Rhythm Guitar). In late 2008 they hit the studio again, this time to record a 12 song full-length album. An exceptionally diverse album going from the hard-hitting distortion of "Love Tiger", the slowed down guitar masterpiece "The Minute Year" and the explosive riffs of "Harpoon That Stole the Moon". The album, "Burn the Sky Down", is in the post-production phase being mixed and mastered. Autamary has shared the stage with the likes of Secret and Whisper, Still Remains, and A Static Lullaby and will soon be on their own tour of the West coast in the summer of 2009.
