Influenced by the smooth delivery of John Legend and laid back strumming of Jack Johnson, Ellis invites audiences to relax and enjoy the warmth of his songwriting and musicianship. Raised on equal doses of R&B and Rock, the Latin-American artist earned a degree in Songwriting and Music Business from the well-respected Recording Industry Program at Middle Tennessee State University. Hailing from North Beach, Maryland, Ellis has performed up and down the East Coast including New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and ventured west to perform in Nashville, Los Angeles and even as far as Melbourne, Australia. He has shared the stage with established artists including SOJA, Sonya Kitchell, Jim Boggia, and Naked Blue, and was a finalist in the Mountain Stage Newsong Contest and Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. Ellis performs over 200 shows per year and his self-titled debut EP was released in December 2010. The EP has received rave reviews from local radio and press and grabbed the attention of music supervisors in Los Angeles. Ultimately for Ellis it’s about the pleasure of creating music and connecting with people. “Music saved my life,” he explains. “When I was down and nearly out, a song helped pick me up. If I can do that for someone, then the hard work is worthwhile.”
