Anne Marie is a pop music artist and singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. She recently released her debut pop EP Glamorous Trash, which is available on all major online music retailers. Anne Marie has sales in the United States, Canada and Germany and radio airplay in the United States and Australia. Former major label music executive Caryn L. Mandel described Anne Marie as being a “young, beautiful, energetic, responsible and brilliant singer-songwriter.” Anne Marie recently performed at the 2009 American Society of Young Musician's Hollywood Live and the Roc or Wear Music & Fashion Runway Show to rave reviews where she was compared to Madonna and labeled a superstar. Anne Marie previously worked as an artist with Casbah Management, was mentored by former Warner Bros. music executive Caryn L. Mandel and trained at Hollywood Pop Academy. Born and raised in North Carolina, Anne Marie spent her childhood studying piano, dance, voice, visual art and acting. She studied classical piano 9 years and trained two summers at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Anne Marie's love of writing blossomed into poetry and later songwriting. In high school, she wrote and published a book of poems entitled The Infinite Journey. Anne Marie attended the University of North Carolina and while there studied abroad in London with the Honors Program. Inspired upon her return, she began recording music and collaborating with local producers and musicians. In addition, Anne Marie wrote a weekly editorial column for The Daily Tar Heel entitled Glamorous Trash, which reached an audience of 40,000. She graduated with a degree in business and moved to Los Angeles. Mentored by an Oscar nominated screenwriter, Anne Marie penned a dramatic screenplay entitled Corruptions of the Heart. She has also written professionally as a youth writer for Investopedia.com. She acted as the lead in two short films as well as gaining a role on the television show Mystery ER. She creates visual art in her leisure time and authors a humor blog at www.GlamorousTrash.com. She is a passionate Vegan and has been sober for 5 years.
