Anil Rock (Vocals/Guitar) was born in de Island of Trinidad and Tobago, origins of Steel Pan and Calypso music. Calypso is a huge part of Anil’s culture and is symbolized by an instrument called the Steel Pan just like the Guitar symbolizes music in America. Each year Trinidad and Tobago has an event call Carnival, similar to Woodstock or the Grammys, that Trinibagonian’s look forward to with great anticipation.

He moved to the US to pursue several musical projects but was hit with the reality of life in America. Comforts of home such as rice and peas, bake n shark, curry chicken, roti, sugar cane and drinks like fresh coconut water and Carib beer were nowhere to be found in his part of town.

Hungry and thirsty Anil Rock emerged with RockaLypso a fusion of his past and current life influences therefore he won awards in competitions like DC Idol (Washington DC), Talent Rock (Florida), appeared on ShowTime at the Apollo (New York) and Fox 5 News.

His new style called RockaLypso which Anil is introducing to America was born through a series of original songs he has written based on his varied musical influences over the years.

Genre and icon influences include Calypso artists like Machel Montano, Second Image and Reggae artists like Bob Marley, Maxi Priest and Rock artists like Jimi Hendrix, Lenny Kravitz, Eagles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, GnR, and Metallica. Anil also shares a great passion for Dance, R&B, Hip Hop and Soul.

The list goes on but just to name a few: Michael Jackson, Prince, Marvin Gay, John Legend, Neyo, Maxwell, Jay Z, P Diddy, Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, TI, Dr Dre, Eminem, Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Beyonce.
