"I love it when a plan comes together......"
Amerikan Alienz is as unique as the name suggests. Haling from Hollis Queens and ShadyVille (a melting pot of every culture, with an undeniably strong Haitian presence), they honed their prowess creating spectacles on the lunch room tables in High School. Members Ichkabob Backlan, Reg Write, and Loki formed an immediate admiration for their respective styles - an obvious prerequisite for what was destined.
Carved out of the sort of thing that begs interpretation, the creative force were soon joined by a fourth talent, Stranger, who's style further textured and complected the unit. Fresh from a defunct, complex group himself, he, realizing the group's potential, began to dedicate all of his attention on producing and developing the lot.
His mission: to take their very different approaches to songwriting and flowing, and bring them to fruition by way of a "song". A simple concept not so easily realized with three very unique styles begging for attention. Nevertheless, the outcome was incredibly fresh and breathtaking. This is particularly evident in their live performances. At their core, lies the art of lyricism, flowing, and again, "song".
In the past, they've opened up for the Fugees and Mobb Deep at Albany State University, performed with Brand Nubians at St. John's University, cyphered with Wu-tang members, opened for Busta Rhymes at SUNY Old West Bury, and battled many, many in their instinctive paths to offer the world a voice once alien to it. They embrace change riding rhythm. Simply good music..........ain't no 'ism in that!
