I havent been on my profile for a few days, so i read your message very late. I am in the semi-finals with my song Cynthia, in the tropical section. The song is about my sister who passed away, I sing the song in my own language(sranan tongo), I was born in Surnam South America. The song is about me and my family missin my sister, this is a way to let her know, that we think of her everyday. It would be nice if other people could listen to Cynthia.
Hey Alyssa. This is Alien Incognito. I'd like you to consider playing my tune, Sexilicious, on the Instrumental channel. I recorded everything myself, just a one man band. Always looking for a singer, songwriter with that unique funk-rock vibe my music requires. If you get in the mood for a smooth groove and want to feel a sexy vibe, give my tune a shot. Thanks!
Hi Alyssa...i've made it to the quarter-finals with my track "Eloquent Conversation" in World cat. I'd be very thankful if you cud play it at the partyline on Friday. This track is a wonderful piece, compiling three Hindustani Classical Raagas...Puriya Dhanashree, Poorvi and Shree. Presented in a a very contemporary form, this song takes one into a journey of serenity and tranquility. Inspite of its 11 beat rythmic structure, the whole track just flows smoothly.Being from Mumbai, India, its my previlige to be a part of OurStage and showcase Indian roots music in newer forms. This track is from my album "Indian Dusk" which has 6 tracks based on different raagas, but in various forms. Enjoy listening!!!This is a great opportunity for you to bring to the world Indian Classical music in a modern form. Thanks a lot!!! Warm Regards
Hey Alyssa! I'm very new to this site (not as many fans yet), but have some very sexy music in the quarter finals. I would love if you could include either "White" (Techno/Ambient) or "Self Massacre" (Gothic/Industrial. Just listen, I am sure you will find them to possess that certain level of awesomeNESS
I have two songs that made it into the quarter finals this month. "Don't Run Away" in Experimental and "Lullaby" in Techno/Ambient. I would be honored if you would play them at the partyline tomorrow. When writing we get to share a story or experience with the listener. These two songs are special to me. They were written at a time when I was trying to figure life, or myself, out. It is my hope that others will enjoy and connect with them. Thanks so much
Hi Alyssa, I would love it if you gave ParaĆso Perdido (Paradise Lost) a spin tomorrow. It's under Latin. The music and the lyrics were mine and the vocalist (salsero), "Papo" Santiago, improvised the vocal solo based on a traditional Puerto Rican poem. The song was written for the short movie "Unstoppable Jackie Nava". The movie and the song are about missing your home (in the case of Jackie Nava, Puerto Rico) and realizing that, sort of like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz , often what you're searching for in life is right in your own backyard. So, yes, this is a salsa tune and I am playing piano. I'm a jazz pianist, actually, from Chicago, where this tune was recorded and I have always love Latin-Afro/Cuban music. If you want you can see the trailer for the movie on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q2260IPlwI. Thanks. Bob Long
Hey Alyssa, I'm definitely looking forward to the partyline. I'll be in class until 2 but I'm going to check it out as soon as I can.
If you could please play my track "Circles" from the female singer/songwriter channel, that'd be fantastic. It peaked at number 1 a few days ago ... now it's at 18. I know my fans are out there trying to make it happen, but having you play the track would be much appreciated.
Thanks again for all you folks do at ourstage. It's thanks to this site that I was able to get my first paying gig at the DC Shorts Film Festival's VIP Reception (which was amazing). So, thanks.
