So it’s Fall, a time of change and a time of homecoming, I have been away for a little while and am very excited to be returning to Ourstage with a new entry in Traditional Country! I see many of you have been very busy and successful over the past couple of months and I congratulate all of the top 10ers from September and October! Over the course of my 6 months or so on Ourstage I have met and become friends with some pretty interesting and talented people. Many of you who are regulars in the Traditional Country channel know my friend Don Worden. Don messaged me earlier this Spring and asked if I would produce a demo and sing vocals on a song of his. I of course was very excited about the prospect as I am happiest when I can be in the studio making music. The result can be heard on Don’s page, It’s called “No Going Back Home Again” I hope you will all check it out!

So I’m finally getting an opportunity to say Thank You! to everyone who helped make “Reason to Live” #1 in Traditional Country for February! It was a very cool experience and it feels great to have so many people who sent me notes of congratulations! Hi everyone, It ahs been nearly 2 months since I joined the community here at Ourstage and I have been truly enriched by the experience. One thing I have noticed that has set this community apart from all of the other online music sites is the sense of family that pervades our community. Ourstage is a community in the truest sense of the word. We have a place here to encourage and support each other, a place to share our music and story, and a place to make lifelong fans and friends. Over the course of competing and judging in various categories I have met countless people with amazing gifts, some musical, some from other areas of an artists life. When I first met Joe Fisher and Cathie Fredrickson I was on a scouting mission to discover new friends and fans. What I found were 2 people with unique stories and talents. Joe, it turns out is not only a musician but is also incredible with the visual art of woodworking. Joe has some wonderful pictures on his profile of a few of the projects he has created with his hands. I would encourage everyone to check them out I’m sure you will be as impressed as I was! Cathie’s story is one of triumph over the darkest of times through the healing power of music. When I read her story on her profile I was moved and inspired! She is a testament to the human spirit and the power of art and music! Please take the time to meet her, you will be better for it. The community here at Ourstage is a unique opportunity to grow a fan base, but, it is so much more than that. It is a place to find inspiration, a place to grow as an artist, and a place to connect and share a little bit of our lives with each other so that we all will become the better for it. Use this community for all of these things and your art will see the reward!
