Featuring industry stalwarts such as producer and multi-instrumentalist Joey Muller (Savage Garden), drummer Jeff Anthony (Sheryl Crow), and bassist Dan Feiszli (Julio Iglesias), “Enemy” is Alex’s debut release on the Oakland, CA based Addo Label. It features songs such as the bitingly sarcastic “L.A.”, and the title track “Enemy” which blends hard-rocking rhythms with electronic instruments and string melodies that evoke the middle-east. These songs give way to the reflective down-tempo songs like “Little Bit Here” and “Until It’s Over”, in which drummer Jeff Anthony switches his sticks for brushes to paint a subtle rhythmic backdrop behind Karweit’s soul-clenching vocals, acoustic guitar and a haunting string melody.
