Born on May 16, Alexis found herself drawn to powerful music at an early age. In her car seat, says her mother, she'd thump her head back and forth and hum along to the familiar tunes played on the radio. Eventually, Alexis memorized the songs, practiced, and performed them on a regular basis for friends and family. Iconic voices like Teena Marie, Deniece Williams, Otis Redding, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera largely influenced Alexis' smooth, and soulful sound. She reflects, "while other children drew amusement from the playground, I drew from the music in my mind and heart." In the spring of 2009, Alexis was accepted in the prestigious Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. For reasons out of her control, however, Alexis could not attend the program, and understood the acceptance as a testimony to her talent. She now attends Georgetown University where she is double majoring in Sociology and Spanish. She continues to search for new ways to promote herself and cultivate her talents. Alexis looks forward to creating her own music, performing, and the day when she hears herself on the radio for the first time. This is a talent that does not plan on going away any time soon.
