Agacee hails from the South Side of Chicago, IL. Growing up, Agacee was all about the music, playing saxophone in his school band, fiddling around with the piano in his house, and writing lyrics at the tender age of 9. Agacee’s love for music would never wane, as he would freestyle at lunch time, or after dismissal while in high school. Agacee first attended Northern Illinois University, before he ultimately graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in theater. It was college where Agacee decided to take his love for rap seriously as a career. At NIU, Agacee linked up with fellow partner in rhyme Nicholaus Kane and they formed an alliance known as Ivy League. In 2005, Agacee’s mixtape got in the hands of the talent rep at Chicago’s House of Blues, and Agacee was called upon to be an opening act for headliner Fabolous. This was a huge break for Agacee, and really honed his craft as a performer. Agacee was sanctioned several times to open for acts such as, Faith Evans, D12, DJ Quik, Nelly, Ludacris, Soulja Boy, and Juelz Santana. A shining moment in Agacee’s career was when he and Ivy League member Nicholaus Kane won the chance to perform at MTV studio’s for the 2008 New Year’s celebration. This was huge, in that Agacee and Nicholaus Kane had performance footage, and interviews readily available to all Comcast Cable customers via On Demand. Fast-forward, Agacee began working hard at releasing music to the blogosphere, and getting his internet buzz going. Agacee has been featured on every major blog in Chicago, including the Chicago Tribune’s Red Eye print, and website. Nationally, 2dopeboyz has shown support of a number of releases of Agacee’s music, as well as The Smoking Section, and Chicago’s premier hip-hop site, Fake Shore Drive. Agacee breathes new life into hip-hop with an honest disposition, witty heart-felt lyrics, high energy production, and overall appeal to any listener. Earlier this year Agacee released the highly anticipated “Film School” mixtape which has garnered a lot of attention. Agacee is currently putting the finishing touches on the forth-coming free album, “American Greatness” with production mainly from Tony Baines, Slot-A, Hip-Notic, and Mark Byrd. Look for Agacee to do major things as he expands his exposure in other markets outside of Chicago, and the U.S.
