Luis Navarro also known as “After” was born on January 6, 1988 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. His mother being a well-establish Gospel singer, introduced him to music at a very early age. Growing up he never expected to become a musician. To him music was nothing more than just something to do to past the time. When “After’s” father suddenly became ill, his mother decided that it was time to move with him in with her to  New York City. New York was very different to what he was used to. The streets more dangerous and the music was very different. He no longer heard the sounds of tropical music, such as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Reggaeton on the radio. Instead he now heard Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, etc. In time he learned to love and appreciate this new type of music and assimilated to his new environment. A few years later his older brother “Nexo” began producing and making beats. Later he found other artists, and producers that shared his passion. Watching his older brother work, “After” felt that this was the perfect opportunity to see what he could do as an artist. He took one of his brother’s beats and began writing to it. A short time later, he had his first song entitled “Mi Amor Eterno.” Getting positive feedback from the song he began to write more music and in the process learned how to record and mix. “The reason why I decided to learn how to mix my own songs was because I did not want to wait on anyone to get my songs done. I used to see a lot of artists in the studio waiting weeks to get a song finally mixed by one of the engineers and I felt like I shouldn’t have to depend on anybody to get mine done.” This is what he bases his whole music career on “never having to depend on anybody.” This form of thinking has brought much success in his career and he also feels that it will continue to do so. “In the years that I’ve been doing this [music], I’ve met a ton of other talented artists and producers. Just seeing and listening to how much they have grown and improved, definitely inspires me to continue to improve on my own self.” “I am no longer the artist that first wrote ‘Mi Amor Eterno’ I’m something much more than that. I hope that the world is ready for everything that I am about to bring ’cause ready or not here I come!” http://www.vidanegra.comhttp://www.twitter.com/IAmAfter http://www.facebook.com/IAmAfter
