So today we’ve been wavering between the 2nd and 3rd spots on the electronic/electro-pop channel…and it’s pretty humbling to see how people are responding to Waves At Midnight. Right now, the #1 spot is held by a group with an excellently written, recorded, and produced track, so I think I’m cool with it if they maintain their lead haha. #1 would be nice but to be honest, I’m just happy we are where we are. Knowing you all out there like our sound this much makes me itch to write more for you and keep competing!! On that note…there may be something new for you to hear after this weekend, depending on how productive Dustin and I can manage to be. He’s got a short 3 days between the end of his January term and the beginning of the spring term, and we’re hoping to knock out at least one (maybe two??) new tracks during that time. We’ll see how it all turns out- I have a ton of new instrumentals ready for him to exercise his vocal cords over, and I have faith that he’ll deliver the goods (he always does).
In closing- Thank you all for your support, it means the world to us. I’ll check in with you soon and let you know what’s up.

So. Looks like people are enjoying our stuff these days! We were pretty high up with Waves At Midnight last month, then suddenly we dropped like a rock as the month closed. Weird, wild stuff. But we’re back up at #9! And even more awesome is the fact that we’ve got something great going with our acoustic version of Decorate The Sky at #22 in the acoustic channel!! I hadn’t thought of entering it until recently, and I’m thrilled that there’s such a positive response!!! Thank you all for being so cool and showing us so much love on here. Things are really busy with both Dustin and I- he’s got some classes eating up his free time, and I’ve got my job and a new musical project in the works – more on that later. But rest assured all is not silent on the ACH front. You’ll be hearing new stuff from us as soon as we can find the time. Dustin’s got a lot written, and we’re very excited about the next couple tracks that we’ll be sending your way.
Hope 2009 treats you all well.

So even after getting to work at a time when I would usually still be in my bed, I’ve decided life’s great. Why, do you ask? Well: 1. We won a copy of Logic Studio 8 from Ourstage not too long ago because our track Maybe, It’s Vanity was so well liked by the judges. 2. We were asked to submit a press kit to The Aquarian, a large NJ music magazine 3. As of a few minutes ago, we have two songs that are kicking ass on the Ourstage charts- Waves At Midnight is #8 in the electropop channel, and Explosions is #21 in the ambient/chill channel. Can’t complain about that at all. Yeah, I know Decorate the Sky is #255 in pop, but with two songs in the top 25 for their respective channels, I can’t complain. Plus, being 255th still means we’re ahead of 222 other songs.
That, and Dustin’s working on a new track called What is Most Fragile- it’s on our Myspace as part of the new album preview. Go check it out.
Hope all is well with you. Stay awesome, kids.

ach
Hey everyone- great news. ACH just got featured on Absolutepunk.net’s Self Promotion Spotlight, in which the staff over at AP picks out the best from the Self Promotion forums and gives them a leg up by putting them right on the front page of the site for all to see. This is truly an honor, and we’re really excited about it. Also, our song Maybe, It’s Vanity from our first EP just hit #4 on the Ourstage.com Electronic/Electropop channel. Another big achievement, especially considering Ourstage’s amazing voting system is foolproof- this means that there’s no possibility of vote tampering, and that the votes reflect exactly what people looking for new music think of us. Apparently you guys on Ourstage think pretty highly of us, and quite frankly, we’re flattered. In other big news, ACH is scoring a piece for a dance performance at Drew University, Kris’ alma mater. It should be about 6.5 minutes in length, and may incorporate elements of a few as-of-yet unheard ACH songs. There’s also a good chance of it being released for free in the near future, so if you want a sneak peek at what we’ve been up to, come back in mid-December once the show is over and hopefully we’ll have a little something for you to snack on until the record drops. I’d just like to take this moment and express my affection for Sam Adams’ Cherry Wheat. Thank you. You are tasty. Oh yeah…we didn’t make the top 5 for mtvU’s Woodie Awards…but that’s ok. With failure comes perspective, and I (Kris) had one of those moments where I realized just how far we’ve come since the spring of ‘07. When posting on the Self Promotion Forums for Absolutepunk, I included a list of accomplishments. I realized while writing them up that there are countless bands out there who never even see a fraction of the success we’ve seen. Not to say that we’ve arrived or anything, but there’s so many bands out there that never even leave the garage and whose songs are never even heard by people two towns over. We’ve managed to get listened to by people all over the globe, get featured on major music websites, collaborate with awesome artists (THANK YOU STACY CLARK FOR BEING AMAZING), get reviewed, and garner label attention all with relative ease. I’m not sure exactly what that all means, but it’s a great feeling. Thanks to everyone who’s ever given us even 10 seconds of listening on our myspace before deciding we’re not their style- that’s 10 seconds more than I ever would have expected of anyone a few years ago. OK, enough gushing. You guys are great, we’re having fun, and there’s more music on the way, so take care and don’t let the state of the world get you down- brighten it in your own way.
See you around, Kris
