Abi Thommes has been playing music since about the age of seven. She was classically trained on the piano, flute and voice until she left school at the age of 18. At school her main instrument was the flute in which she was awarded a scholarship but her main focus and passion was always song-writing and sitting down at a piano and singing her songs live. Abi Thommes has been playing music since about the age of seven. She was classically trained on the piano, flute and voice until she left school at the age of 18. At school her main instrument was the flute in which she was awarded a scholarship but her main focus and passion was always song-writing and sitting down at a piano and singing her songs live. As a young girl she was always listening to music and she adored West End musicals. She wrote her first commercial pop song when she was 13 but her real passion for song writing was found in sixth form: “Writing songs comes to me as easily as conversation comes.” Abi’s other love is performance, as she performs at open mic-nights and more recently playing bigger gigs with her recently-formed band: "Honey voiced, piano led songstress from the country trying her luck in the big, bad smoke." (The Good Ship, Kilburn) Abi lives in London and is always looking for people to collaborate with and new gigs to play at.
