Toni Nicole Shepherd, better known as TONI, is an American singer-songwriter from Harbor City, CA. Originally born in Los Angeles, CA in 1986, TONI’s family moved to Harbor City where she was raised. Throughout her school years, TONI often formed various girl groups with other classmates, sang in the choir, and played the flute and clarinet. TONI attended Narbonne High School, where she performed in the school’s first Best of Broadway: Tribute to Bob Fosse show. Other notable alumni include actor and director Quentin Tarantino and rapper Tyga. Gracefully moving between genres, TONI posseses a unique musical style, blending her soul vocals with pop, R&B, and hip-hop tracks. Her appreciation of music began with her mother’s excessive stereo play of oldies, blues, funk, and Motown hits. As a multi-genre influenced artist, TONI started belting vocals as early as the age of 6 and wrote her first song about a classmate crush when she was 7 years old. In 2011, she self-released the digital single “Music Keeps Me Alive,” which she co-wrote with guitarist Ricardo Sanchez. With newest her single, “All I Want Is You” featuring rapper Killahboy Onwon, TONI forms an intoxicating union between hip hop and pop. The dance track, produced by the award-winning musical whiz Yang Song, pulsates with electronic synths, exciting percussion, and a whirlwind of uplifting effects. She is now working on her debut album, titled “The Best of Times.”
