My brother was always in a bands, Singing and song writing to anything and for everyone. I loved to watch. His drummer showed me how to keep a simple beat when I was about 13. I kept playing for about 4 yrs but got disinterested cause I had no one to play with. After watching his guitarist play I thought to myself " I could do that" Of course my brother and all of his friends told me I suck and to give up. But I found that to be a driving force to want to get better. After about a year of playing I founded my own Metal band name We Sail At Dawn. We got published in two Magazines (Just local. Nothing too fancy) After playing with some talented musicians for 2 years we parted ways. I started to work on recording and wanted to attend The Conservatory for Recording Arts and Sciences. I got accepted but couldn't afford tuition. A band by the name of DeadGates found my page on MySpace and loved my playing style. I played with them for 2 years and again was published in one more magazine. But there was something missing. I didn't just want to play. I needed to learn the business aspects of Music. I wanted to make this a career. I asked people what the music was missing, Implemented some suggestions and revised a lot about the way I constructed songs. After I was assaulted by one of the band members and put into the hospital, I decided I needed 1: A back up plan. And 2nd: to find a different avenue and approach to music. So I attended school at the ATC, graduated with a 3.5, took 1st place in regional and state for SKILLS USA and took 4th in the Nation. And am now going back to become a electrician so as to fund my music and to have a secure future. My approach, I decided, Would be to work alone and to drop metal and start singing and playing acoustic. And here I am today. I have been playing guitar, All together, for about 6 years. But I have been playing and singing acoustic for about 10 months. All my songs are about struggle and hope in relationships. Most of my songs were made for a girl who truly inspired me to want to be a better person. we were together for 5 yrs and broke up do to faults on both sides. But the impression she left still remains. And now I have a will to succeed that triumphs anything else because I have decided I want it more then I am afraid of it.
I truly hope that anyone who listens or reads about my story gets inspired to work for and achieve the very thing that brings them what matter most to them. Cause all of this has been worth every bit of struggle. Enjoy
