With the release of Lauren Marsh’s debut EP "Ready for Takeoff" in October of 2012, Lauren reached an artistic milestone. “Although she is only 21 years old, by listening to her voice, the pitches she can reach and the crescendos she can create, you wouldn’t believe that…. singer and songwriter Lauren Marsh just released her first album.” -Heather Flore, Hopewell Sun Lauren's debut EP went on to be honored with the Jersey Acoustic Music Award for "Top Indie EP of the Year", while her artistry was nominated in four additional categories: Top Female Vocalist, Top Female Listening Room Act, Top New Female Act, and Top Indie/Pop/Rock Act. At the request of the JAM Awards, Lauren performed her original song “For A Moment” at the awards ceremony on April 7th, 2013. Marsh's songs "Home" and "Stranger" were then each individually selected by the company Screenvision to be featured in their pre-show entertainment aired in 8,000 movie theaters nation wide along side bands such as the Goo Goo Dolls, GroupLove, Cassadee Pope, and the Arctic Monkeys. "Stranger", Lauren's single released in Sept. 2013, went on to be selected by an independent production company out of Ontario to be featured in the indie film "Blood Empires". As a singer-songwriter Lauren performs acoustically or with her live full band at venues like World Cafe Live in Philly. She recently completed her 2013-2014 college tour at universities from Pittsburgh to Boston and on July 19th Lauren opened for Howie Day at the Newton Theatre in Newton, NJ. Marsh and her full band are looking forward to opening for Anna Nalick on November 6th at Havana in New Hope, PA. Lauren is currently preparing to release her new record titled "The Incurable Heart" at the end of this summer 2014. The single "OH OH (Hold My Heart)" hit online stores world wide on Tuesday July 29th, two weeks after the release of the music video on YouTube. A singer-songwriter at heart, Lauren incorporates jazz, pop, and indie influences in a style that is uniquely her own. Lauren’s artistry combines key experiences from starting as a jazz vocalist, spending five years as a lead vocalist and keyboardist in rock bands, and immersing herself into the music of artists like Adele, Led Zeppelin, and Ella Fitzgerald.
