Lane Evermore, currently a Pretoria based progressive post rock band, formed at the end of 2009 with the band being made up of; Stefan Steyn, providing the vocals and guitar, Pieter Matthyser on drums and vocals and former bassist Matt Kowalic. After recording their first song "You Can't Spell Skill Without Kill" they landed their first show at the rock and roll diner "Boogies" on the east coast ...of South Africa. On that particular show, they shared the stage with international rock artist's Dilana Robichaux from the well known Rockstar Supernova TV show and Erik Eldenius, former Billy Idol drummer, as well as local artists Ross Tapson, and Tony Rowland. In 2010 Lane Evermore lost their bassist Matt, due to the relocation of the band to Pretoria. They then focused on writing new material for a possible future album. Because of the instability of not having a fulltime bassist, most of 2010 was spent writing new music apart from the odd event with artists like Cutting Jade, a South African rock band and South African pop rock artist Miss B. March 2011, Lane Evermore started production on their first full length album with new bassist Mark Woolfrey, previously of Commando Friday, a punk metal band. Hungry for success, they then dedicated much of their time towards the writing of the album, thinking of different ways to push the envelope higher striving to become the catalyst of change in the South African music scene they so desired to see. In June 2011, by complete chance, Lane Evermore discovered their lead guitarist Jean Buys, former guitarist for The Curious Incident. After moving to Pretoria from Stellenbosch he joined them in studio and slotted in perfectly as a member, bringing a whole different dimension to Lane Evermore's recorded tracks. By August 2011 Lane Evermore, through their own initiative had recorded, printed and packaged 1000 limited edition Lane Evermore demo cd's, to distribute under 15000 Oppikoppi festival attendees. The aim was to build a solid fan base for the future. The songs released on the demo included "Any Other Time", "To My Soldier", "Stain Of Wine” and the 2009 recording of " You Can't Spell Skill Without Kill". The reception of the demos was far greater than was anticipated owing to the high demand for them by the festival goers. The success of the demo launch at Oppikoppi further motivated Lane Evermore to return  to the studio, to continue writing and recording their album. With the album nearing completion, Lane Evermore played shows at Stones Centurion and The Bohemian with bands like Old Brown and The Sherries, and Sick Cindy in order to test the waters with the new material. With eager followers and only positive response from the viewers, Lane Evermore decided to concentrate on live performances, creating adrenaline filled live experience that would assault the senses of the viewers.   With the dawn of 2012 Lane Evermore arranged their first headlining show in Potchefstroom (NW, South Africa) at Memphis Rock and Roll in February 2012, supported by other acts including Sick Cindy (Jhb), Old Brown And The Sherries (Jhb), and Jackvalve (Pta). Lane Evermore’s passion and love for music and tenacity as a band will ensure excitement in all aspects within the media industry. Lane Evermore passes this on to those who listen, making use of their powerful music with its technical intricacy and eloquent lyrics. Creating their own unique sound, breaking boundaries of genres, thus paving their own way into what will be a conscious shift in perspective for music.   http://www.facebook.com/#!/Lane.evermore.band
