White Bluff, TN
Listen to Jonathan Wells and you will say "Now there is a voice".
Big smooth vocals that make you want to listen to what ever type of
song he is singing, and those songs are usually a fine blend of Country, Gospel and Rock. A gifted songwriter, he knows what works for him. He comes by it naturally. His story starts back stage wrapped in blanket and set in a suitcase while his parents performed in the Gospel trio they were part of. By the time Jonathan was in his teens he had mastered playing the piano, flute and saxophone and had begun working on the guitar. A North Carolina native he started finding venues to perform in around Charlotte at the age of 15.
In 2002 Jonathan competed in a vocal competition just hoping to win a new Sure microphone that was one of the prizes. That contest became a life changing experience. The Director of NSAI Bart Herbison and several hit songwriters from Nashville happened to be the judges for the contest as it was part of a music conference being held in Charlotte. Bart asked him to attend the conference where Jonathan learned about NSAI and the music business in Nashville.
Jonathan began working on writing with a whole new attitude and set his sights on Music City. He made trips back and forth from North Carolina where he honed his performing edge to Tennessee and continued to learn the craft of writing great songs. Making the move to Nashville in 2005, Jonathan hasn't looked back since.
His schedule is diverse and very busy. He's out playing gigs around the southeast and performing new material at songwriting venues in Nashville.
