Geuka (pronounced: jay-yoo-kah), which- means Swahili for “re-birth”, is an American visual artist, singer, songwriter, composer, and performance artist. Amiri Geuka Farris (full name) received his Masters of Fine Art in Painting and B.F.A. in Illustration, from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has performed in numerous cultural and event venues and exhibited his multi-media works in museums internationally. Geuka is one of the most prominent artists dedicated to integrating music and art. Experimenting with a wide range of musical styles, Geuka fuses poetic lyrics he calls rhymeoetry!® - a mix of pop/hip-hop music and poetry, and dynamic images to create evocative artsongs and performances. Geuka writes and produces his own unique flavor of music and hopes to use his artistic vision to bring about a universal new sound - a sound without violence, without overt materialism, and without bias or discrimination. He strives to inspire people of all ages and demographics to come together in a myriad of ways through his music.
