Straight out of West Philadelphia, The Chairman C.E.O., born Dont'e Marquis Welch on May 21, 1982, has had quite a journey. Coming from Wynnfield home of Oscar Award winning Will Smith, Hip-Hop has ran through the young C.E.O.’s blood since an early age. Inspired by all types of music, The Chairman gravitated towards Hip-Hop because he loved the outlet, the way the MC would give you his or her point of view was priceless to him. Artist such as KRS-ONE, RUN DMC, Nas, Cool C & many more had been a major influence and led C.E.O. to his entrance in to the world of hip hop. Since 1994 The Chairman has been scribing rhymes and performing all over Philadelphia. In his teenage years. C.E.O. suffered a devastating blow when he became paralyzed from the waist down due to a basketball injury. Although medical professionals advised him that his chances of walking again were slim to none, he channeled all his energy towards a miraculous recovery and mastered his craft as an MC. Another bump in the road came along when his grandfather passed away from bone cancer. C.E.O.’s grandfather was the one who first exposed him to quality soul music and gave him the confidence to excel. C.E.O. took it upon himself to seize the day and follow his dreams with urgency. Through all adversity he showed he had the heart and determination to overcome anything that was placed in his path. Since the beginning, C.E.O. wrote about his experiences using positive lyrics relating to morals and highlighting community and life issues. Behind his ferocious and unrivaled swag, we hear a commanding voice that lays clarity in his bars that tell stories from the heart and soul. His voice instantaneously captures your attention with his rhythmic vibes. The raw uncut simplicity of his words carries strong meanings. He works hard to promote music with a message and takes hip hop to a level that inspires others to think out of the box. Over the years working with peers releasing several mix tapes & Cd's, he also appeared in an industry publication known as the "GAME". The Chairman began to work with prominent artists such as Ab Liva (The Re-Up Gang), Freeway, Omillio Sparks, E-Ness (Making the Band) and more. He utilizes his skills as engineer, producer and songwriter to promote his message of uplifting the streets and empowering the youth as well as his peers. The talented and skillful entrepreneur is founder and CEO of Famlee Entertainment Group based out of one of North Carolina’s home of Hip Hop and R&B, Fayetteville. He relocated to Fayetteville, NC in 2006 ready to mark his new stamp. Still representing Philly, he is now more than ready to give the world his soul. The Chairman keeps his circle tight working close with premium representation, XM5 Music Management to build his independent empire. C.E.O. is an innovative intellectual and is well respected by fellow artists. The vivaciousness of his character and rhymes make him exclusive and uncommon.
