Description
this is a song about pride/self-sufficiency--essentially, a plea for humility. I started writing it in the summer of 2008 when I was overseas doing some missions work and music in New Zealand. It wasn't until this year that I finally was able to finish the song. I debuted it while opening for Peter Furler (original lead singer of the Newsboys) in February.
Lyrics
All of my pride shipwrecked me, and left me drifting out at sea, Humble me, set me free, From this throne that I established by myself, Hear my plea, rescue me, From all this self-sufficiency, Because I am nothing without You I built my castles in the sand, I made them up with my own hands, But then came waves and rainy days, and all my plans were washed away, You humbled me, set me free, From all my self-sufficiency, Because I am nothing without You.
