Lyrics
In the time of the day when the sun fades away And the night becomes alive too You can hear the people sing You can hear the people laugh As the moon shines down on Lake Pontchartrain In a bar on the water in a Zydeco band Watching the boats go by and the people coming in You can hear the waves moving Against the side of the dock As the moon shines down on Lake Pontchartrain During the day or late at night The people come to enjoy the fun The fishermen, the lovers, the bartenders too, watch As the moon shines down on Lake Pontchartrain So after the gig is done and we've all had our fun Time to pack the stuff up and drive away You can feel the night yawn as it sets itself down As the moon shines down on Lake Pontchartrain
