Nouveau Livre de Noels

This selection comes from an 18th Century, French method book titled “New Book of Noels for Organ and Harpsichord” by Michel Corrette (1707-1795). The excerpts we transcribed chronicle the angelic visit to rural shepherds near Bethlehem, and their trek to see the “new born king.” Originally composed for organ, we've adpated it utilizing chamber instruments to “mimic” the various stops and timbres of the 18th century cathedral organ and its diversity of sounds.
