Lyrics

We set out on the road to find out what it holds...test the fabric of our souls and to realize We planned for distant goals, couldn't wait to go but the feeling inside it was volatile We set out from our home determination grown believing infinity was possible Learning as we roam, from the river's undertow to swim with the flow of the waters Under the midnight stars of California’s desert Pondering paths so far - they seem forever Making tomorrow ours the scars of yesterday will guide us through the unknown and we never plan to stop We dream of a better day, of the old ways back home we seem only to let them fade into memories long gone These dreams will slip away they are here today, then they're gone we seem only to let them fade into memories long gone On mountains afar...we're forgetting who we are the altitude helps us see farther The watershed of life, dividing like a knife, separates the past from the future We're speeding afar and fast, no we're never turning back - our dreams are becoming reality We're never going home - forever on our own But we'll never forget where we came from Under the midnight clouds of Cuyahoga weather Honor our friends so proud - they stand together Making tomorrow ours ,the dreams of yesterday will guide us through the unknown and we never plan to stop Every one of us in this town looks for a way out Something to change the hopelessness and doubt All roads have a gutter that looks to the sky I never knew that more then on the day you died And at your wake I remembered that long drive We had a dream You're gone yet I still thrive
