Lyrics

The rain is age last: It's not that it don't find the humor in things It used to pour and watch us sing But we don't do it anymore So what would it laugh for? The night was tortuous: It spun us in circles to get us to sleep Hiding the light in that old backseat While we were driving through the storm At least the heater kept us warm A job once meant for arms to keep us close Are we afraid of nature wrecking our plans? A slight delay to work or a canceled dance Let's not complain but revel in the ways of Earth You can live in a casket if that's all life is worth to us But I don't trust not trusting our world It's not that I don't find the humor in things I used to dance and I love to sing But I don't do it anymore If that's what life is for The night was tortuous: It spun us in circles to get us to sleep Hiding the light in that old backseat While we were driving through the storm At least the heater kept us warm A job once meant for arms to keep us close Are we afraid of nature wrecking our plans? A slight delay to work or a canceled dance Let's not complain but revel in the ways of Earth You can live in a casket if that's all life is worth to us Let's trust our world
