Maria was written three days before the "Outlaws Lament " sessions. I was having a personal crisis, and in such a case I seem to always turn to music for solace. I remember sitting at the bar in "The Loft", and clutching my guitar,{Maria}, I said , "I can always come back to you, Maria".. Maria became a woman in the song, but in real life she's my guitar
