Falling Out

I cast a black shallowy shadow on tarmac at Roma St waiting for you. The fire in your eyes left no hint of surprise that you knew what you’d say and I knew it too. Because I’m always falling out but I’m never falling in. With heads deep in hands we discussed grains of sand as the sun fell on backs and the hours passed. It tasted like bitter tears and who would have thought that this weak resolution would pass so fast. Because I’m always falling out but I’m never falling in. Don’t cry tonight.
