Cecilia

"Cecilia" is a song I wrote about my grandmother. I had this idea to write a feminist concept album about various women I knew or had been inspired by and the adversities they faced in their lives. My grandmother was a very smart, wise woman who lived through the death of her child and a troubled marriage, among other things. Her ambitions took a backseat to that of her husband, like many women of her generation. I felt she epitomized the overall concept of the cd.
