Description

I wrote this about a girl I knew and the stories she used to tell me about her childhood/teen years. She basically went through every imaginable kind of abuse and used drugs as an escape. I also took some influence from Neil Gaiman. I was reading Neverwhere and the Sandman comics at the time. This and our song One Gun Salute were originally one song lyrically; which is why we chose to begin the album with Every Hour and then end with One Gun.

Lyrics

They say it’s easier not to believe But where do you turn when it gets too much Nowhere to run but in, to the only one who seems to care Just a pinch, her veil fades To reveal a place ruled by dream Nowhere to run but in, to the only one who seems to care I have tried, held on and survived But she has lost the will to care I can no longer bare The strength to repair I've heard it’s easier not to believe Nowhere to run when it gets too much Where do you turn but in, to the only one who seems to care Just one pinch, to lift the veil To reveal a place ruled by me Nowhere to run but in, the only one, my one and only I have tried, held on and survived But have I lost the will to care I can no longer bare No strength to repair They say every hour wounds It comes on like a migraine And this day burns To reveal a new tomorrow But if everyday wounds The last one kills I have tried, held on and survived But I have lost the will to care I can no longer bare No strength to repair Jon Sinclair (2010)
