Description
Edward Thomas was an English poet, killed in the Battle of Arras, during the First World War. While he did write some memorable war poems, his greatest word-hoard lies in his heart achingly beautiful poems of longing for the rural England of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, during the twilight of the ancient, remembered ways of their countryfolk. I have combined his short poem 'Winter Pass' with a small part of one of his most his famous poems 'Adlestrop' and made a song of it.
