Love is a Cattlefield

Description
I always liked the idea of rearranging the words to a popular song title to come up with something entirely weird... recent experience in the arena of old romance yielded this gem which is probably a country song, but is too outright plain electric to count as one. "Love is not a war, but still watch where you step..." And, yes, the line about steam rising and falling is basically referring to the cold-hearted beloved as you know what... ain't love grand?
Lyrics
Angelic notes from a heavenly harp One came to me just a little too sharp Cuts the ears, pricks the eyes Bringing tears, dreadful sighs Resignation to pain realized She is strong, I am bound to be carried around An anchor dragged up from the lost and found Shoulder weight, in such state I will never be great Enough to be part of her fate Chorus: I walk with my vision obscured by the light I talk to myself, but everything is alright A man should know in a war Things die and go blind And people lose life When they step where they’ve mined Love is not a war, but still watch where you step For the worst of it is not revealed Love is a Cattlefield She’s a woman of whim, moves as she must By a moment of truth, she loses all trust In the rain, I recall The steam rises and falls She’s hot, I admit, and her temper’s not all We are pals till the end forever undone And I’ll never go doubting that she was the one I’m a fool, speaking loud Where I once hid in crowds And it was then I was told speaking was not allowed Well, love’s on her shoes She won’t walk it off soon Escaping the rumors I’m over the moon Like Pandora’s box The rumor unlocks This filthy old paradox…
