Description
I was watching the television one evening about People being able to open the sealed records about their adoption. This was in New Jersey. I don't know if other states allow this or not. I believe that the mother may be deceased and that is the basis for being able to open the records but I'm not sure. It gave me inspiration to write a song.
Lyrics
I found out who I was today They opened he records they all say They were sealed for all of those years And they hid all of the tears I was born on a summers day without papers or a place to stay My life was just waisting away but everything would be ok I found out who I was today I found out I had a real name By someone that caused her shame I could not help but be lost She kept me alive at any cost I was adopted by my mom and dad With DNA that I knew I had I was loved I do agree But I was not the pedigree I found out who I was today 4x I'm happy just to be alive I know it's not the time To try to catch a falling knife to change one single line in time to find out that I have the right To find out who I was today I found out who I was today They opened he records they all say They were sealed for all of those years And they hid all of the tears I found out who I was today
