Description
This is a song I wrote about my brother. He's in the Marine Corps, and was overseas at the time. I'm not a political person, and I didn't want to write a song about war...I just wanted to let him know how much I missed him, how much I love him, and how proud of him I am. I chose this song because I feel like the vocal track captures perfectly the emotions I was feeling when I wrote the song.
Lyrics
Today I got your first letter I was wondering how you'd been Ans as I read your words, it occurred to me You left a boy, you'd be back a man (PreChorus) And I can hardly take it I can hardly shake it The thought of you out there (Chorus) You're my everyday Every way, you're my Everyday hero (repeat) You shrug it off like it's no big deal Like it's every day you go to war You're out there fighting for my freedom (what is freedom?) So I can strum this damn guitar PreChorus Chorus (Marine Corps Cadence) Up in the morning way too soon (Up in the morning way too soon) Hungry as hell by noon (Hungry as hell by noon) Outro/Chorus Soldier on Soldier on You're my everyday hero Everyday hero Soldier on
