Description
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2006 and decided to write a song about the effect it was having on my life. I also was seeing events in the world and wanting to comment regarding the devastation of the Iraq War. This song says, "I want to see the world through your eyes."
Lyrics
“Through Your Eyes” (C) Words and Music Dan Ryan Brooks 2009 Sitting here wondering what to say Sitting here wondering what to do Knowing that my words, just won’t be enough To tell you, what you mean to me. I’ve watched the world as it changes Isn’t really someplace I want to be When the time arrives, it just won’t be enough To hold me, the way you’ve held on to me. I’ll follow you You know the times we’re going through I could never see, the way you do for me I want to see the world Through your eyes . Through your eyes, through your eyes See the world through my disguise I could never see, the way you do for me I want to see the world Through your eyes. I’ve heard the wind blow through the trees I’ve seen the soldiers on their knees Every time I cry, and pray for their relief That you will hold them The way you’ve held on to me. I’ll follow you You know the times we’re going through I could never see, the way you do for me I want to see the world Through your eyes. Looking at the hatred And the hunger And the wars! You’ve got to help me see, My eyes are blinding me– I want to see the world through your eyes.
