Vicarious Thrills

One thing I understand in life is the blues felt by the mythological character Tantalus. Punished to stand in a pool of water under a fruit tree forever... but when he reached to drink the water, the pool drained away from his reach. When he reached to eat the fruit, the branch holding it swayed away from his hand... in this world, it can seem everything you want the most retreats at the sight of you; "It is just that way, every dog has his day... but it's the master who sweeps the bones away."
