Description
This is a song about the loss of one's first love and inspired by a depressing winter night's walk. I observed that the snow had melted away from the shrubbery in a pattern that reminded me of shadows, and, thinking about my first love 3 years before, began tapping out a rhythm that soon led to a bass line and melody.
Lyrics
First Frost. Written 1993 by Stephen Walker So cold, so far away! The first frost is here, as the cold washes over me I Can't fail to hear that she is over me. Never again will I find one for me that love will blind The first frost is here, freezing my tears. The frost, the frost, shivering I am lost In the frost, in the frost, I am lost. The water so cold inside it seeps And freezing there I crack in sleep The first frost is here, freezing my tears Icy blue, frosty white Why o why is my heart tight when the Beauty turns away, when the beauty turns away From the day. The first frost is here I can't fail to hear The shiny crystals, serene yet sharp Are tiny knives to cut my heart The first frost is here, freezing my tears The first frost is here I can't fail to hear Freezing my tears!
