Down In Tears

This song was written about a tearing relationship and making ultimately futile sacrifices to keep it together. "Learn to live, live and learn, die in shame, shame for life..." The lyrics started as a poem, but the chorus section and bridge felt strong enough to transform the entire piece into a song. In retrospect (over 3 years now), it is a sad song that just needed to happen when it did. The guitar melody line during the chorus was to symbolize the tears falling like rain.
